    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    As the Assistant Reservist Program Manager, you will provide analytical and coordination support to the Reservist Program Manager. This position starts at a salary of $81,548 (IC-12). Apply for this exciting opportunity to become a member of the Logistics team within FEMA.

    In this position, you will provide support and coordination to management and the assigned program area Reservist Program Manager (RPM) through conducting of studies and tasks designed to ensure the alignment of the program with the agency's operational and administrative policies and procedures. Typical duties include:

    • Coordinating human resources, property issuance, and security clearance matters with program specialist in property management, human capital, and security offices
    • Conducting analytical studies and evaluations focused on the establishment of a proper number of responders and the appropriate number of personnel trained, exercised, and equipped to accomplish disaster response mission activities
    • Assisting in the development, review, update, and assignment of Position Task Books for each Reservist
    • Collecting and conducting ongoing analysis of key program performance data and metrics and developing recommendations

    Promotion Potential: Positions filled under Stafford Act regulations generally do not have documented promotion potential; however, dependent on an employee’s ability to perform higher level duties, the continuing need for an employee to perform work associated with a higher level position, and administrative recommendation and approval, promotions may be earned by CORE employees.
