    This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will serve as an Auditor.

    As a AUDITOR at the GS-0511-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
    · Serving as an expert advisor to supervisors, senior managers, and colleagues in all areas of professional accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
    · Establishing and auditing accounting programs and processes that are vital to and in support of the Joint Staff (JS) mission.
    · Conducting audits of budgetary reports and financial statements.
    · Participating in the development and management of the JS Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) Program.
    · Establishing, reporting on and monitoring internal controls.
    · Maintaining the integrity of financial information in accordance with OMB Circular A-123, Appendix A.
    · Conducting periodic audits of the Comptroller Accounting Budget System (CABS) to ensure it is operating properly and meets the United States Standard General Ledger (USGGL) criteria, Standard Financial Information Structure (SFIS), and Financial Systems Integration Office (FSIO) core system requirements, and recommends systems changes and enhancements as needed.
    · Developing, implementing and testing SOPs to establish consistent standard repeatable processes and ensure the effective and efficient execution of financial operations and internal controls.
    · Serving as a point of contact for audit inquiries from DoD Inspector General (IG), Government Accountability Office (GAO), and other investigative organizations.
    · Representing the JS at conferences and meetings.
