The Senior Advisor for Data Science (Intelligence), as the Army's Chief Intelligence Data Officer and leading authority on data science as it relates to intelligence data management and technical standards, provides subject- matter expertise, judgment, and advice on policy, strategic programming and programming for intelligence data management and information sharing/data interoperability between Army and National/Joint intelligence and mission command systems. Serves as the Army Staff lead responsible for strategic planning for intelligence data management within the military intelligence community, in partnership with the National Intelligence Community, and in collaboration with the Army Chief Information Officer/G-6 (CIO/G-6) and the Army Acquisition Executive. Develops strategies, plans and recommendations to synchronize data between military intelligence functional disciplines, intelligence support to special operations, cyberspace operations, and Army mission command functions. Develops, implements, and oversees all Army intelligence data standardization related activities, to include creation and enforcement of accountable policies and standards for the Army Intelligence enterprise to acquire, store, process, and provide data in a standard manner, as well as providing and securing data based on mission, legal, policy, civil liberties, security, cyber, and information sharing rules. Provides senior intelligence expertise on the incorporation of Data Science (Intelligence) requirements into Department of Defense and/or U.S. Army Force Development (FD) processes, to include policies, directives, and regulations governing activities within the Army Organizational Life Cycle Model.
Substantial policy influence over the $100 million budget for the Dept. of the Army Intelligence Information Services (DA IIS) for intelligence data management. (Supervisory Controls) Serves under the general direction of and receives broad strategic guidance from the Director, Intelligence Community Information Management, ODCS, G-2. The Senior Advisor for Data Science (Intelligence) serves as an individual contributor in a non-supervisory role.
