PHYSICAL EFFORT: The incumbent ranges from desk activities to inspections and field tasks which involve considerable walking, climbing, stooping bending, stretching, lifting and in general, physically awkward positions. Work requires the ability to move around the office, to carry items such as office files, packages, or items weighing up to 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The incumbent performs work inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions. Subject to extreme weather conditions. The incumbent may be assigned to work areas where certain potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present. These agents may include, but are not limited to : fumes, dust, noise, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, chemicals, etc.
NOTE: Incumbent requires to operate a government motor vehicle in the performance of assigned duties. Therefore, a valid state driver license is required.

Applicants who meet or exceed minimum qualifications will be assigned to one of two category groups based on job-related criteria:
Best Qualified Category - Meets the minimum qualification requirements and excels in most of the job related competencies above.
Qualified - Meets the minimum qualification requirements, but does not satisfy most of the job related competencies above to a substantive degree.
This category rating process does not add veterans' preference points or apply the "rule of three", but protects the rights of veterans by placing them ahead of non-preference eligibles within each category. A selecting official may make selections from the highest quality category (Best Category) provided no preference eligible in that category is passed over to select a non-preference eligible in that category unless the requirements of 5 U.S.C. 3317(b) or 3318(b) are satisfied.
