    As a General Engineer you will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Serves as a General Engineer providing technical and professional advice on engineering issues affecting the NRO.
    • Originates new and improve applications and strategies for engineering or architecture concepts, theories, and principles that affects the planning, completion, and direction of major engineering architecture projects.
    • Prepares, provides and evaluates conventional plans, designs, design specifications and related documentation.
    • Provides input to senior colleagues and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations.
    • Serves as an advisor on a broad program, a highly specialize field, or for assignments which affects national or international interests.
    • Serves as a Technical authority and/or Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR).
    • Participates or Manages issues and risks to balance cost, schedule, and technical performance.
    • Researches trends and patterns
    • Develops New methods and criteria.
    • Proposes new policies and practices.
    • Conducts technical analyses and field and/or laboratory work to achieve desired products or services.
    • Participates in the decision making process and assists in the execution of exploring, reconciling, and resolving uncertainties, situations, problems, or conflicting objectives typically resulting from the abstract nature of the concepts or the existence of serious conflicts among scientific requirements, technological developments, standards, program direction, and administrative requirements.
    • Evaluates the value and applicability of new or improved technology, strategies, trends, or applications.
    • Interacts with the user community with respect to system and/or operational requirements.
    • Develops criteria, procedures, or instructions for a particular functional or specialized area.
    • Provides advisory services on problems, conditions, programs, and function to a broad customer base.
    • As a member of a team plans, develops, advises on and implements projects and/or segments of NRO programs, projects, or activities.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - May be required to travel CONUS and OCONUS in military or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
