    This is an open-continuous announcement for the Medical and Surgical section within Nursing Service at the Dayton VA Medical Center. Applicants will be referred as vacancies occur or on the closing date of the announcement 09/30/2019

    Responsibilities

    Incumbents will be assigned on the Surgical and Medical (SAM) unit or on MED 1 unit. The RN delivers theoretically and scientifically based nursing care to an assigned group of veterans. He/she is constantly building upon current clinical competencies. Serves as an advocate for the veteran and is obligated to demonstrate non-judgmental and nondiscriminatory attitudes and behaviors that are sensitive to veteran diversity. The RN is accountable to function as an effective team member, team leader, preceptor and/or charge nurse.

    Work Schedule: 12 hour shifts of 7:30am - 8:00pm or 7:30pm - 8:00am, holidays and weekend required. You will be required to work one 8-hour shift within a two week period

    This is a Bargaining Unit position.
