We are actively recruiting a full-time plastic surgeon to participate in our clinical practice and teaching programs. Additional certification in Hand Surgery is considered highly desirable. Clinical responsibilities include the full spectrum of operative and non-operative management of general plastic and hand surgery (50:50 practice). There is a high volume of hand cases with minimal trauma.

A successful applicant must possess a record of successful practice management with excellent clinical and surgical skills.
The duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1.Assesses the patients in the clinic setting and perform surgery as needed.
2. Provides consultation in the Emergency Department.
3. Provides service consisting of the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients consulted through the section on an inpatient and outpatient basis; and monitors and evaluates patient care.
4. Serves on service level and hospital committees as needed and participate in the facility peer review program.
5. Maintains professional competency, courtesy and flexibility or provide the necessary services of this specialty.
6. Possesses strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills with a commitment to academics.
7. Other duties as assigned within clinical privileges to meet the needs of the medical center to include administrative duties specific to Surgical Service as designated by the Chief of Surgery.
Work Schedule: Work schedules vary depending on the needs of the facility. Hours are 40 per week, 80 per pay period. Nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call may be required depending upon the needs of the service.

EDRP: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program within VHA.
