    The incumbent will provide management of the operations of a research reactor, including supervision of the control room operators. Responsible for ensuring that all reactor operations personnel are properly trained and licensed to perform their assigned duties. Participates in the training and evaluation of reactor operations personnel in the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) re-qualification program and other training, as necessary. Manages staffing levels to meet regulatory requirements and provides maximum efficiency for program and reactor maintenance needs. Designs and tests nuclear systems and components. Collaborates with engineers, scientists, and health physicists. Maintains Safety Analysis Reports. Manages, prepares, reviews and distributes document control for all operational procedures and regulatory reports. Works with Reactor Operations and Engineering, Health Physics, and Safety Evaluation Committee (SEC) to review, update and approve reactor procedures, rules, instructions and directives. Serves as NRC license renewal consultant and ensures regulatory compliance. Serves as Chief of Reactor Operations and Engineering when needed.
