    Summary

    About the Position: Serves as an Environmental Protection Specialist (EPS) for the Directorate of Public Works Environmental Division at Fort Carson, Colorado. The EPS serves as the Environmental Compliance Assessment Team Program Manager to ensure Fort Carson's units (military, contractors, and tenants) comply with Fort Carson's Environmental Management System and regulations concerned with the protection of public welfare and the environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee and provide guidance to the Environmental Compliance Assessment Team in the performance of environmental assessments of processes, training, and activities and to ensure compliance with Fort Carson environmental requirements.
    • Review existing and proposed environmental regulations and guidance issued by HQDA, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and other literature relative to Fort Carson?s environmental program.
    • Assist in developing and conducting various environmental training pertinent to the requirements of current installation priorities and practices.
