    About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and child care available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.

    Responsibilities

    • Directs through subordinate supervisors, the planning, organizing, staffing, and management of all installation facility functions.
    • Directs and reviews engineering designs, specifications, and estimates to be used by contractors or in-house forces for the repair, maintenance, or construction of installation facilities.
    • Directs the financial management functions to include review and approval or disapproval of programs, development, budget and fund estimates for inclusion into depot annual budget
    • Recommends promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors, makes formal appraisals of their work performance, and determines training needs for all levels of subordinate supervisors.
    • Directs, reviews, coordinates and assures the formulation of plans for the rapid expansion of the organization to perform at the required capacity at the time of limited or full mobilization or disaster and emergency situations.
    • Ensures that subordinates are adequately informed of their responsibilities concerning hazardous materials/waste with the work area.
