    About the Position: The Alaska District is seeking to fill a Term (NTE 2 years) Engineering Technician (Civil) in the F35 Program, Construction Section Office at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. An ideal candidate will have strong experience in construction management, competency in computer applications, able to work independently, able to work in project teams, and have great interpersonal and communication skills in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Duties listed below will be performed in a developmental capacity at the GS-07 and GS-08 grade levels. At the full performance, GS-09, the incumbent will:
    • Review new contract drawings and specifications for bid solicitations and contract administration.
    • Serve as the Resident Office's coordinator and liaison person between contractor and Government personnel for the receiving, reviewing and dissemination of Request for Information (RFI's), shop drawings and submittals.
    • Reviews payment estimates submitted by contractor and from records in the office and performs contract close out processes.
    • Establishes, maintains and archives the Office Of Record Contract File (OREC) and the Paperless Contracting File (PCF) for all assigned contracts for the life of the projects.
    • Promptly complete all contract administration actions necessary to complete the Final Pay Estimate including preparing the final pay estimate, negotiating a Release of Claims (ROC).
