Fort Greely is a remote location that is located in the Delta Junction commuting area. It's located 100 miles southeast of Fairbanks and 365 miles northeast of Anchorage. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area to include fish, bear, moose and caribou. Winter delivers snow and ice conditions October through April with average temperatures of 8 to minus 19°F with extreme lows of minus 50 plus; summer temperatures rise into the 70s and 80s with up to 22 hours of daylight.
