    Summary

    This position is a Lead Medical Records Technician located in the Health Information Management Unit, Division of Clinical Services of the White Earth, Naytahwaush and Pine Point clinics, and reports to the Medical Records Administrative Specialist.

    Responsibilities

    • Distributes and balances workload among Medical Records Technicians.
    • Monitors status and progress of work and makes day to day adjustments in accordance with established priorities.
    • Performs comprehensive review, evaluation and audits of the records to assure the presence of all component parts by using Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis.
    • Analyzes medical documentation to assure the appropriate evaluation and management levels are assigned using the correct CPT codes and modifiers.
    • Provides ongoing education, updates, and briefs physicians, nursing staff, medical records technicians, and health care professionals on coding updates, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
