    OER is seeking potential candidates to fill the role of the Director, Division of Human Subjects and Clinical Trials. The ideal candidate will have direct experience and expertise in areas related to clinical research and human subjects protection issues.

    • As a Supervisory Physician (Research) and Director, Division of Human Subjects and Clinical Trials, some of your duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:
    • Manage and direct the work of a staff of professional employees.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of program supervised in terms of mission accomplishment, quality and quantity standards, procedural policy, regulatory compliance, and technical competence.
    • Serve as an expert resource to Institutes and Centers (ICs )with respect to NIH human subjects research policies, practices and guidelines.
    • Oversee the development of training materials for NIH Staff with clinical trials stewardship responsibilities as well as extramural applicants and awardees.
    • Represent NIH OER to other NIH components (NLM, OSP) and liaise with other organizations and federal agencies such as OHRP, CDC, FDA, to facilitate concerns, collaborate on mitigating issues and information sharing.
    • Participate in and attend training to keep abreast of the latest state of the art Good Clinical Practices and Regulatory Affairs in Clinical Trials Operations, Oversight and Compliance monitoring.
