The Loma Linda VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time staff Optometrist to provide direct patient care activities, including Low Vision evaluations. The Optometrist will be primarily responsible for refractions, contact lens fittings and Low Vision evaluations, but will also be responsible for some complete eye examinations, and referring to Ophthalmology for further diagnosis and treatment. The Optometrist is responsible for contributing to the achievements of quality of care standards, efficiency, process improvement and patient satisfactions, and is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values and with a commitment to excellence. The incumbent is responsible for all appropriate documentation in the patient's medical record, in accordance with the VA policies and other regulatory bodies. He/She may be asked to perform other duties as assigned. Optometrists appointed to direct patient care must be proficient in spoken and written English and must meet all requirements for the position. The incumbent must perform as part of a team, with excellent communication skills and interpersonal relationships with all other eye care providers and support staff.
Work Schedule: FULL-TIME, (May be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 Full-Time Optometrist)
