    Summary

    You will serve as a Supervisory Distinguished Engineer in the Program Management Office, PMR-51 of the Office of Naval Research.

    Responsibilities

    • You will provide strategic technical, programmatic, and managerial guidance to the PMR-51 organization and provide input to the Naval Research Enterprise (NRE) and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Science and Technology leadership.
    • You will oversee the management and execution of PMR-51 programs and projects with an emphasis on meeting warfighter needs, transition to acquisition programs, and/or military operational demonstrations.
    • You will ensure appropriate technical rigor and discipline is applied consistently across the portfolio.
    • You will actively collaborate on science and technology projects across the NRE, and external services and agencies in the Low Observable (LO)/Counter Low Observable (CLO) science and technology community.
    • You will lead a community of experts in the conceptualization and definition of major program areas that integrate a broad range of technical disciplines and specialities together with a range of anticipated Naval needs.
    • You will lead a collection of multidisciplinary programs recognized nationally/internationally for its quality in an area of major importance to Office of Naval Research's (ONR's) corporate agenda and the Department of the Navy (DON).
    • You will employ and develop innovative techniques to identify and engage a wide variety of science and technology experts in government, industry and academia to significantly increase ONR's ability to ensure wide access to diverse perspectives.
    • You will develop the workforce structure with a long-term view to encompass developing individuals, planning for succession and retirements, and recruiting to enable the optimal capability of Naval science and engineering personnel.
