    Summary

    This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Operations Coordination (OPS).

    All DHS-HQ announcements have a 5 business day open period due to the number of applications received.

    Responsibilities

    As a IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) GS 2210 9/11, your typical work assignments may include:

    • Conducts System Administration (SA) planning, coordination, modification, implementation and troubleshooting to support OPS system/network customer needs.
    • Manages system resources, the installation and integration of systems fixes and workarounds, updates, and enhancements including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability. Identifies and recommends considerations for use in local SA operating procedures.
    • Maintains and documents in-house network and system configurations, including system security documentation. Recommends technical procedures for use by the operations staff and identifies and recommends standards and criteria for assessing network performance.
    • Performs needs analysis to define customer requirements, translating them into technical solutions, including hardware and software changes and updates.
