    Summary

    The Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) is the central facility for the acquisition, preservation, protection, retrieval, and dissemination of scientific and technical information (STI) supporting the Research and Engineering (R&E) needs of the Department of Defense (DoD), as well as federal and industry partners. DTIC provides leading edge information services and analysis products to the DoD community as a recognized leader in information and knowledge management innovations.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains systems configuration, as well as resolves hardware/software interfaces and interoperability problems.
    • Develops and implements systems diagnostic and maintenance tools to ensure the availability and functionality of systems.
    • Evaluates and recommends selection of new systems' diagnostic tools.
    • Serves as a System Administrator responsible for the management of Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) systems.
    • Serves as a primary resource for customer problem resolution and troubleshooter for operating systems errors, software applications issues, and/or interfacing problems.
    • Provides operational support for users of Information Technology (IT) equipment, software, networks, and systems.
