This recruitment is for one position with Office Health Informatics (OHI), Health Informatics (HI), Interoperability Office (IO) located 810 Vermont Ave NW, Washington, DC 20420.
The VA/DoD Interagency Program Office (IPO) is responsible for advancing the practice and science of clinical informatics in support of both the Departments' of Defense and Veterans Affairs. The Physician Informaticists will lead at least one assigned office priority and support others activities that are assigned to the IPO. The objective is to ensure that health information systems development and operations provide clinical value to patient care and that the practice of medicine in VA and DoD is maximized in support of the service to the Veteran, Service Member and dependents population. To be successful the incumbent will use informatics, leadership, collaboration skills, experience and comprehensive knowledge associated with a variety of health care setting (i.e. clinicians, researchers, educators, technical staff, and administrators) within OHI, VA Central Office programs and other representatives from other portions of the federal and private sectors. The incumbent will also attend or lead national workgroups on behalf of the IPO and OHI. The incumbent will provide input to IPO leadership on clinical informatics matters and priorities, and provide informatics representation for interagency collaborations with emphasis at the strategic level. The incumbent will also represent the IPO, alongside their DoD counterpart, on clinically related committees and workgroups within the agency and the larger federal community.
Occasional travel - 1-5 Number of nights may be expected to travel for this position.
