Instructs groups and individuals in daily and weekly ski programs, using a variety of teaching methods to effectively communicate to students who have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Teaches children as well as adults. Ensures proper safety procedures are followed at all times and that students learn in a safe environment. Is responsible for ticket handling from groups of students and must maintain good internal control practices to keep track of tickets. Assists with program registration, equipment issue, ski lift, and cleaning duties. Reports any problems to the Manager as soon as possible in order to maintain high quality service to the guest. May be involved in designing, building and maintaining the snowboarding course, by building jumps and installing rail, using hand tools. Works with the maintenance crew by coordinating the work that needs to be done, such as the snow grooming machines; jumps and rails are placed in the right spots; and the course is maintained and safe for customer use at all times. Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed at all times by customers and employees on the course. Must always maintain a positive attitude around and towards guests in order to project a positive image for WTR and all the MWR programs. Other duties as assigned.

-Must be able to work rotating shifts of weekdays, nights, weekends and holidays.

Fort McCoy's Whitetail Ridge (WTR) Ski Area provides the community and the public with multiple opportunities for outdoor winter recreation. The 200-acre facility is also used for military training. Whitetail Ridge is open for approximately mid-December through mid-March, weather permitting. Snow-making and snow-grooming equipment located on site keeps slopes in optimum condition. The facility is recognized by the National Ski Patrol, and patrol members monitor activity on the slopes to promote safety and attend to any injuries.
More than 20,000 people enjoy the facility each year. Downhill skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels will find our groomed and lighted ski runs some of the best in the area with the longest exceeding 1,300 feet-equipped with a self-loading T-bar lift.
The five tubing runs are equipped with a separate rope tow, making the journey to the top of the hill as enjoyable as the trip down. When natural snow conditions are sufficient, cross-country skiers have access to more than 5 miles of groomed trails. There is also opportunity to snowshoe. Tactics Paintball and Laser Tag is also located at Whitetail Ridge. Groups of five or more can be accommodated.
