The position is full time permanent Domicilliary Program Coordinator-Social Worker for The DRRTP is a Mental Health Residential Treatment Program organizationally aligned within Mental Health Service (MHS) and is located at the George H. O'Brien, Jr. VA Medical Center, for The West Texas VA Health Care System, Big Spring, TX. The DRRTP Coordinator provides managing oversight for the administrative and clinical aspects of the DRRTP. The incumbent has responsibility for coordinating interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments, budget, treatment services provided, and admission criteria of the program. The incumbent also supervises employees assigned to the program. The incumbent is responsible for fund control points related to the DRRTP and/or Emergency Transportation Funds. The incumbent manages and controls the use of data related to the DRRTP program regarding day to day functioning and program evaluation. In conjunction with the Chief, Mental Health Service, the incumbent plans, organizes and directs administrative, operational, patient and personnel activities for the service. In addition to managing facets of the DRRTP, the incumbent has a clinical roll in provision of direct care including screening, treatment planning, discharge planning and group therapy as needed. The incumbent ensures the DRRTP follows the guidelines provided by VHA Handbook 1162.02.
