The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s (BOEM) Office of Strategic Resources (OSR) manages ocean energy and mineral resources of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) by balancing expeditious and orderly development with environmental and safety concerns. OSR is responsible for the development and implementation of the National OCS Oil and Gas Leasing Program, oversees the assessment and inventory of oil, gas, and other mineral resources, conveys access to marine minerals, maintains official maps and geographic data, conducts economic evaluations to ensure the receipt of fair market value for OCS leases, and leads efforts to identify and mitigate the financial risks associated with offshore lease activities.
This position serves as a Senior Sales Coordinator in the Sales Coordination Branch (SCB) under the Leasing Policy and Management Division of OSR. This position requires a high degree of responsibility and autonomy. The incumbent will assist in all critical aspects of lease sale planning, preparation and execution, and will be operating in a highly visible and politically sensitive arena of offshore oil and gas leasing.

Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-14, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) coordinating oil and gas, mineral, renewable, or other energy-related lease sales, including preparation of leasing documents and briefing materials; 2) utilizing the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (OCSLA) and other relevant Federal statutes and regulations to complete offshore leasing processes; 3) serving in a team lead or similar role providing guidance to new or junior staff; and 4) leading a project related to offshore energy activities which consisted of multiple, time-sensitive phases and involved coordinating work products with others across the Bureau, Department, or other Federal agencies. Must meet all four.
