    This position is located in the Inspections Office (INS), Special Operations Division (SOD), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security.  As a Psychologist your typical work assignments may include:

    • Evaluating the effectiveness of agency security programs and operations using covert testing procedures and techniques.
    • Developing and executing covert testing projects and plans utilizing human factor methodologies and theories and experimental and quasi-experimental design.
    • Analyzing a variety of data collection techniques to identify critical factors and examine workforce behaviors.
    • Analyzing and interpreting test results to determine if security operations are effective and meeting programs requirements.
    • Advising agency leadership on recommendations to changes in security policies, operational plans, and identifying future test areas.
    • Preparing technical reports and documents to present to senior leadership, internal and external stakeholders that support the agencies findings and position on evaluating security operations and programs.

    The major duties described above reflect the full performance level of this position. Typically, the lower pay band (I Band) performs the same duties but will receive more guidance and training and/or projects/work assignments may be less complex.
