    Summary

    About the Position: Serves as Facilities Management Specialist for an Army Major Command, U.S. Army Futures Command (AFC). Provides leadership and direction in the implementation of policies, plans, and programs involving real property, space planning, renovations, furniture activities, building operation services, maintenance, and facilities management at AFC-occupied leased buildings/spaces in Austin, Texas.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains liaison with the building(s) lessor representatives to ensure understanding and proper administration of facility leases and/or contracts that are the direct responsibility of US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the GSA.
    • Develops, implements, and oversees the plans and programs for AFC compliance with Department of Army and lessor requirements for facility safety, physical security, key control, access, fire protection, and facility evacuation.
    • Advises program officials with respect to appropriate space requirements, usage and layout techniques.
    • Reviews occupant use of space, analyzes needs, and plans alterations and space reorganizations to accommodate changing tenant and mission requirements.
    • Coordinates building repairs, renovations and alterations with lessor representatives.
    • Serves as assigned Project Officer for renovations and furniture requests, large and small fixed priced contracts as well as a number of blanket purchase agreements covering construction, furniture, electrical, heating, air conditioning, etc.
