Supervisory/Managerial: The SWP manager serves as a first-level supervisor of a branch responsible for planning, assigning, and evaluating both routine and complex work to be accomplished in this group. Specifically, this position will be accountable for assigning and prioritizing work, setting priorities, reviewing work, and managing the performance of direct reports. In addition, the incumbent will be directly responsible for coaching and developing employees, including preparing performance appraisals and administrative actions.
A Program Manager in this pay band applies an expert knowledge and mastery of advanced principles, concepts, regulations, and practices, analytical methods and techniques and serve as the FAA agency lead, subject-matter expert and principal point of contact in the program under his/her management. He/she manages programs/activities under minimal direction of a higher-level manager or executive with work reviewed only at completion for success in achieving planned results. The position serves as the principal point of contact on the application of program policies and procedures, with authority to recommend positions, prepare and approve major reports, and develop briefings. Work typically affects one or more organizational units or higher levels within FAA.
Applicants must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of SPECIALIZED experience equivalent to the next lower grade/pay band (FG/GS-13 or FV-I) within the Federal Government. Specialized experience is defined as that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is typically in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as:
Conducting environmental scans to understand an organization’s vision, priorities, and business goals at least 3-5 years into the future.
Compiling workforce data (size, demographics, location, cost, mission critical occupations, critical skill sets and competencies, employee life cycle trends) for a large organization.
Identifying internal and external drivers of change affecting workforce, such as economic stability, budget, industry or government trends, new technologies, etc.
You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history. Errors or omissions may impact your rating or may result in you not being considered.
In addition to the Specialized Experience, this vacancy has Selective Placement Factors. These selective placement factors (SPFs) are essential to the duties of this position. Candidates who do not posses the SPF are rated ineligible/not qualified and will not receive further consideration.
