    Summary

    This position is located in the Department of Health and Human (DHHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in one of the following locations: Greenbelt, MD, College Park, MD, Rockville, MD, and/or Silver Spring, MD.

    This announcement will be used to fill various positions. Positions may or may not have promotion potential. Additional selections may be made within the same geographical area FDA-wide.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform scientific work involving the action of drugs, therapeutic agents, or other chemicals, on living systems.
    • As required by the nature of the assignment, independently participate in identifying and evaluating the short-and-long-term effects of drugs and therapeutic chemicals.
    • Serve as an expert to other scientists internal to FDA, external entities to the FDA, and interested parties on drug evaluation, risk assessment and the acute and chronic effect of drugs, chemicals, and complex chemical mixtures present.
    • Participate in the review, analysis, and evaluation of the pharmacological impact and toxicological potential of a given substance; data cover a range of dosages by, including a therapeutic dose if applicable.
    • Participate in data cover various means of administration and known exposures relating to the reversible or irreversible nature of the impact of the product or chemicals on particular organ systems, clinical parameters or target organs
