This position is located at the Center for Grain and Animal Health Research Center (CGAHRC) in the Grain Quality and Structure Research Unit, Manhattan, Kansas. The CGAHR develops new technologies to solve problems related to natural resources conservation, the production, harvesting, storage and utilization of grain to ensure a safe, abundant, high-quality grain supply and to conduct basic and applied studies on the arthropod transmitted viral diseases of domestic animals.
The incumbent will conduct research on sorghum grain composition, chemistry and functionality with an emphasis on proteins. Specifically, research will focus on determining the factors that impact sorghum grain proteins and their interactions with other grain bio-molecules and end-use quality.
