    The incumbent of this position performs but is not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Provides expert advice in specialized area of accounting, developing policies and financial management program goals; carries out a program to determine accounting system adequacy, to identify accounting and budgetary problems and to develop and maintain progressive fiscal management techniques and practices;
    • Reviews legislation and regulations for potential impact on the Division and management of the Region;
    • Develops procedures and guidelines within area(s) of responsibility for program users;
    • Develops and monitors accounting internal control programs; identifies problem areas and develops solutions to improve operating program effectiveness;
    • Provides advice to financial and program managers, other accountants and grantees on unusual and difficult accounting systems and/or operations problems;
    • Conducts and coordinates long range and comprehensive systems studies for the design, modification, and implementation of automated accounting systems.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - Travel by any means of government or public transportation may be required.
