This position is located in the Office of Curatorial Affairs, National Museum of American History (NMAH). The incumbent assists curators in carrying out the research, collections, exhibition and education mission of the Museum, with special emphasis on management of the standing collections and for exhibition projects. The incumbent participates in activities across subject areas and organizational divisions, serving on exhibition teams, standing committees and/or ad hoc working groups.

For this position, specialized experience is defined as experience managing and preserving museum collections within a historical museum or cultural setting; using and maintaining a collection information database; and conducts/directs research in support of a historical museum's, exhibitions, and other museum related projects.
Or Education: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent degree related to the position may be substituted to meet the experience requirements.
