    THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

    This position is part of the TX SAO, Army Aviation Support Facility and is located in Houston, Ellington AFB, Texas. The purpose of this position is to repair aircraft armament and weapons systems.

    Responsibilities

    As a AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC (Title 32) with the Texas Army National Guard, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

    • Serves as an armament equipment repairman with responsibility for accomplishment of maintenance of weapons systems installed on ARNG aircraft which are electrically and/or hydraulically driven and electronically controlled, that may include fire control and interface equipment, such as
      articulating pylons, TOW launchers, optical sights, helmet sight systems and modular ejector uqits.
    • Makes periodic and emergency Aviation Unit Maintenance (AVIJM) thru Aviation Intermediate Maintenance (AVIM) level inspections and tests to check out the aircraft armament systems and fire control equipment.
    • Uses appropriate technical publications and schematic diagrams for AVUM the AVIM level maintenance of aircraft armament systems and fire control equipment.
    • Assures that needed shop material, tools and equipment are available and in serviceable condition.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
