    There is only one (1) vacancy that will be duty stationed in either of the following locations: Washington, DC or Albuquerque, NM

    This position is part of the Education Acquisition, Bureau of Indian Education. As a Supervisory Contract Specialist you will be responsible for resolving critical problems or developing new approaches for use by other contract specialists for major, short- and long-term requirements.

    Responsibilities

    As a Supervisory Contract Specialist GS-1102-15, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:

    • Serve as the Contracting Officer with Level III FAC-C certification, delegated complete authority to approve award of all contracts and grants.
    • Provide leadership, direction and management of the priorities, policies and requirements for the Bureau's acquisition and cooperative agreement programs.
    • Responsible for the development and formulation of policies governing all Bureau acquisitions.
    • Conduct technical reviews, studies and decision papers performed by the staff and senior executive management.
    • Responsible for the charge card program, implementation of the DOI electronic acquisition system, budget, small business initiatives, FOIA inquiries and assisting with financial audit.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Work requires travel away from the duty station on field assignments. Travel involves transit via airplane and motor vehicle.
