    This is a non-bargaining unit position.

    This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Field Operations - Region IX in Honolulu, HI. The Public Affairs Specialist expands the SBA brand throughout the District and in increasing visibility and awareness of SBA programs and services tho the small business community, stakeholders and the general public.

    - Develop and implement the District Communication Plan (DCP); conduct research and analyze the District's media climate.
    - Respond to media inquiries; maximize press coverage and/or media interview opportunities; promote/develop news releases; develop and maintain current and accurate media database.
    - Develop, execute and update marketing and communications tools.
    - Produce feature stories for media on successful businesses receiving SBA assistance; develop flyers, brochures, agendas, advertisements, articles, etc.
    - Conduct presentations, interviews and arrange media coverage.

    Travel Required

    50% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position.
