The incumbent participates in the clinical care, educational efforts, and research efforts and works to achieve objectives of the Gastroenterology section in collaboration with the Chief of Gastroenterology. In addition to the main tasks with the section, qualified persons will have the opportunity to work with the academic affiliate Gastroenterology and hepatology Division at the University of Utah in the achievement of these objectives.
The position includes clinical, administrative, education, and research duties based on the candidate's qualifications. The approximate time assigned in each of area as of the date of this statement is listed below. This may change over time depending on the needs of the Service and the Medical Center. The time allotment is consistent with information contained in the physician mapping tool that is used to follow physician duties and productivity. The specific allocation within each area (e.g. number of clinics per week, number of months attending on inpatient ward services) is found in the mapping tool.
