    Summary

    This position is located in the eASL VistA Apps , Health, Benefits, Memorial, Corporate Support, Infrastructure Operations, IT Operations and Services, Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) serving as an Senior IT Analyst responsible for the full range of duties associated with the IT specialty area required to support the VistA APPLICATIONS Division in one of the following sections: FINANCIAL and ADMIN APPLICATIONS.

    Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary, but may involve intermediate periods of walking, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, moving (up to 50 pounds) computer components and supplies, reaching, pulling, and working at a keyboard and monitor. Subject to call back outside tour of duty.

    Major Duties:

    • Mastery of and knowledge of IT concepts, principles, and practices sufficient to plan and carry out difficult and complex assignments and develop new methods, approaches, and procedures.
    • Expert knowledge of the mission and programs of the customer organizations sufficient to provide advice and guidance, within the assigned specialty, of complex IT issues.
    • Mastery of and experience in the use of oral and written communication methods and techniques to accomplish continuing coordination with IT program managers, customers, etc, and prepare and present briefings to senior IT staff on complex IT issues.
    • Ability to manage stressful situations and deal with obstacles within the working environment, which includes peer relations and the demands of handling multiple tasks, and ability to be flexible, creative, showing initiative and being persistent as a team player.

    Occasional travel - Up to 10% travel may be required.
