    This position is located at Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

    This position serves in a park Communications Center that provides 24/7 public safety dispatch operation, in a complex environment, normally serving more than one park units, jurisdictions, and/or agencies in multiple geographic areas, requiring an extensive body of dispatch procedures knowledge.

    The incumbent is charged with the responsibility of maintaining the physical security of the parks through the installation, maintenance and repair of an array of electronic systems inclusive but not limited to trunked radio systems, fire alarm systems, perimeter detection systems, programmable logic controllers and CCTV/DVR systems. These systems are critical to the security of the National Park Service in preserving the safety and well-being of staff and visitors. The incumbent: provides technical expertise and corrective/preventive maintenance for Land Mobile Radio systems which may include: VHF, UHF portable and mobile radios, shelters, towers, antenna systems, base stations, repeaters, etc.; performs corrective/preventative maintenance of radio control components and links including Radio Control over Internet Protocol (RoIP), VHF/UHF links, ear and mouth interface, channel banks, dispatch consoles, tone remotes, and/or T1-T3 data circuit interfaces; works on outlying servers and travels to sites to assist with installation and maintenance of systems; creates and maintains an alarm key code group; creates and maintain an inventory of all park radios; installs radios in vehicles, buildings; tracks and purchases batteries and disposes of old unusable batteries; conducts inspections and performs preventative maintenance as required by policy; participates in facility construction and renovation meetings; and creates and maintains education training programs for Dispatchers and Law Enforcement personnel relating to alarm system and radio use.
    In addition to technical duties, incumbent is also a park dispatcher; Performs public safety dispatch and call taking services for incidents and operations inside National Parks. Also provides vessel, backcountry and aircraft following via radio.
    Tracks and coordinates contract work as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) relating to radios and alarm systems.

    Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
