    Responsibilities

    • As a Contract Specialist your duties will include:
    • Performing specialized and complex contract award and contract administration work.
    • Researching, interpreting, and applying the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures governing NIH acquisitions.
    • Evaluating bid responsiveness, contractor responsibility and performance.
    • Conducting studies of problem areas and developing standard methods and operating procedures.
    • Coordinating and conducting negotiations on assigned programs, persuading audiences, and dealing effectively with resistance to proposed plans and ideas; giving adequate consideration to alternative plans and ideas.
    • Applying critical thinking and judgment skills to various work assignments to identify and troubleshoot potential problems and to develop remedies and solutions.
