    Summary

    The incumbent provides psychiatric care to an adult outpatient population and coordination of care with local and department of Veterans Affairs (VA) inpatient facilities. The incumbent will provide outstanding psychiatric care, including medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders, as a member of a multidisciplinary outpatient based Substance Abuse Treatment Program.

    Responsibilities

    • Psychiatric care to a population consisting primarily of patients with substance use disorders, and support to full time internists. Provides medication assisted treatment, including buprenorphine, as part of a substance abuse treatment team.
    • Serves as Team Leader for staff members in the Mental Health Service, Substance Abuse Treatment Program.
    • Participates in service-specific psychiatrist duties as assigned by Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0730 AM - 4:00 PM

    **CURRENTLY ELIGIBLE FOR 10.99% COST-OF-LIVING ALLOWANCE (COLA) TO BE ADDED TO TH STATED SALARY RANGE. COLA SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.**

    This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). If selected for this position, you are encouraged to apply for this award program and must meet specific individual eligibly criteria in accordance with VA Policy 1021. Award amount is determined after review of a complete EDRP application and supporting documentation and final approval by the Under Secretary for Health or designated official.
