Serves as an Information Technology Data Storage Administrator in the United States Department of the Treasury, Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Office of Information and Security Services – Infrastructure Operations (ISS-IO), Operating Systems and Storage Division, Data Storage Branch. The division mission is to enable, process, secure, and monitor the operating system and storage infrastructures necessary to ensure the continuous processing of the platform, software and services required to carry out the mission of Fiscal Service; to design and deploy cost-effective operating system and storage infrastructures for the Bureau of the Fiscal Service program offices and key business partners and customers.
The vacancy can be filled in either Parkersburg, WV or Kansas City, MO.
As an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN)(IT Specialist-Data Storage), you will:
- Provide 24 hour technical support for all systems and services to support the Fiscal Service enterprise data storage infrastructures.
- Perform the installation, testing, maintenance, and upgrading of equipment and software supporting the enterprise data storage service provided within Fiscal Services data centers and secure areas.
- Provide support for the analysis and studies of customer needs for initial and/or additional enterprise data storage services in accordance with Fiscal Service’s governance and project management policies and procedures. Contribute to the development of detailed proposals, functional descriptions, and system specifications for enterprise data storage technology in relation to these efforts.
- Assist team lead and branch manager in areas such as the development of support contract forecasting, budget forecasting, security plans, contingency plans, and IT initiatives in the area of enterprise data storage.
