The Low Vision Optometrist is responsible for functioning as a full member of the Blind Rehabilitation Center's multidisciplinary treatment team. The Low Vision Optometrist will be located within an inpatient blind rehabilitation setting at the Doris Miller VA campus in Waco, TX. The Low Vision Optometrist participates on an interdisciplinary team responsible for the total rehabilitation process of their assigned patients. This includes evaluating patient needs, developing an individualized treatment plan, implementing this plan, and recommending sensory aids and prosthetic equipment.
The Low Vision Staff Optometrist will be responsible for the following tasks:
