This position is located in the Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of the Inspector General (OIG). The SBA OIG is an independent audit and investigative organization that conducts objective oversight of SBA programs and operations and independently reports to the Administrator, Congress, and the public to further the Agency's accomplishment of its mission. In accordance with the Inspector General Act of 1978, the OIG's mission is to prevent and detect fraud, waste and abuse in SBA programs and operations to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness within the Agency.
The incumbent reports directly to the Assistant Inspector General for Management and Operations (AIGMO) and performs a wide array of policy analysis and development responsibilities. He/she will serve as OIG's communications officer (Congress and Media relations) and is responsible for supervising subordinate staff. As communications officer, the incumbent is responsible for both external and internal communication programs of the office.
