    The incumbent serves as the location Information Technology Specialist at the USDA, ARS, Foreign Disease Weed Science Research Unit (FDWSRU) in Fort Detrick, Maryland in an Army-owned building.

    Major Duties may include, but are not limited to:

    The incumbent provides broad support, advice and assistance to the research objectives of the location by acting as the location Information Specialist and providing network administration to ensure efficient operation of the Location's Local Area Network (LAN) and Windows (PC) and Macintosh (Mac) OS, iOS and Android environments. Will also provide systems support to scientists and support staff including the administrative staff; applies systems expertise to resolve immediate problems and instructs others in computer operation, policy and procedures.
