    The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy's (EERE), mission is to create and sustain American leadership in the transition to a global clean energy economy. ITSO provides information technology and business management systems support and ensures IT investments are aligned, integrated, effective, and responsive to the organization's needs.

    As an Information Technology Specialist, you will:

    • Provide leadership, guidance and direction on all aspects of data management/administration program activities.
    • Implement policies and standards for Department-wide IT information systems ensuring compliance with applicable Federal IT concepts and standards as well as other applicable DOE policies and procedures.
    • Provide expert advice and guidance in complex, long-term projects involving design, procurement and installation of new information systems.
    • Conduct detailed fact-finding studies based on information technology operational requirements or audit findings and recommendations and recommend corrective action to improve effectiveness.
    • Formulate long-range policies and develop and implement strategies and management guidelines for complex and changing systems.
    • Liaison with other IT and business stakeholders to integrate security into the system development lifecycle.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Overnight travel may be required.
