The Director for Cybersecurity serves as the principal advisor to the CIO/G-6 and other Senior Army Leaders on the integration of all aspects of Information Technology/cybersecurity strategy within the CIO/G-6. Maintains continual strategic communications with key officials in Army Commands, Army Service Component Commands, Army Staff, Army Secretariat, Joint Staff, DoD agencies, OSD Secretariat and lnteragency forums -particularly with career and political Senior Executive Service (SES) members who have significant policy, planning, and programming responsibilities for Signal and Information Technology/cybersecurity development. Provides key insights supported by technical analysis and detailed background material in resolving difficult problems and challenges. Ensures staff actions support required force development actions and priorities. Reviews and evaluates Army Staff recommendations, and ensures resolution of substantive questions as well as actions. Develops actionable solutions to problems and synchronizes such solutions across the Army Staff. The incumbent is responsible for achieving at end-state; a secure information environment resistant to known and emerging cyber threats. This end state is characterized by the phrase "mission assurance", which translates to ensuring the Army and mission partners have the right information at the right time at the right place from a trusted information source. Represents the CIO/G-6 in a wide variety of Army, Joint Staff, and OSD forums and coordinates with Services, DoD agencies, and international partners on IT initiatives and IT strategy. Responsible for a budget of approximately $160M. Performance is reviewed in the broadest.terms for technical perceptiveness, managerial competence, and senior leadership effectiveness for contributions to the CIO/G-6 mission. Serves under the general direction of and receives broad strategic guidance from the CIO/G-6. Oversees a workforce of 100 combined military, and civilians; directly supervises personnel at the COL/GS-15 levels.
