This position is located in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Office of Enforcement. As a Transportation Specialist, you will perform duties related to the development and administration of the compliance program within the Compliance Division of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
The ideal candidate is a recent college graduate from a qualifying educational institution within the previous two years. The candidate has the ability to assist develop and administer programs, conduct research and data analysis, provide technical guidance, and resolve issues. The candidate also has strong written and verbal communication skills and good inter-personal skills.
RECENT GRADUATE PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY:

The Transportation Specialist (Pathways Recent Graduate) will:
Provide assistance to senior Transportation Specialists in the management of projects in order to resolve issues relating to inspections, compliance reviews, investigations, and other special initiatives.
Provide technical guidance to FMCSA and other Federal and State agencies on the application or interpretation of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs).
Draft correspondence in response to inquiries from the general public, industry organizations, and commercial motor carriers regarding compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Assist in the development of training materials to educate Federal, State, and local agencies on inspections, investigations, and compliance reviews.
