If selected for this position, you will develop, prepare and administer examinations to applicants for operators' and senior operators' licenses for nuclear reactors; assist in examination administration and evaluates examination results and subsequent informal staff reviews; review and process the final action, as specifically delegated, on applications for and communications concerning license applications submitted pursuant to 10 CFR Part 55. You will also assist in the performance of audits of the development, preparation and administration of examinations by regional examiners; and evaluate licensee initial and requalification training program implementation.
You must meet the qualifications for this position by no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.
Qualification for 0801 Series:
Candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices in a field of engineering as evidenced by a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, science, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Qualification for 1301 Series:
Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices in a field of physical science as evidences by a Bachelor's degree in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Note: Note: It would be desirable for the applicant for this position to have a background as a licensed operator (senior reactor operator or reactor operator), or an senior reactor operator-certified operations training instructor. In lieu of applicants with this background, an applicant with significant experience as a Shift Technical Advisor may also be considered desirable.
