This position is located in the Office of General Counsel, OGC, Smithsonian Institution, which provides legal advice to the Smithsonian Board of Regents, the Secretary, and other executive and program officers on matters involving the administration of the Smithsonian's nine research centers, 19 museums and the National Zoological Park. The incumbent of this position is responsible for handling litigation to which the Smithsonian is a party and providing legal advice in areas that may include federal anti-discrimation laws, federal tort claims, contract claims and other federal laws affecting the Smithsonian. These duties are performed in a fast-paced environment and the incumbent works under the supervision of the General Counsel.
