    At this level you will have full supervisory responsibility for a large staff of non-supervisory personnel, including GS-9 and GS-11 Medical Technologist, and at least one subordinate team leader or supervisor at the next lower grade level. You will recommend appointment, plan and assign work, give advice and counsel and evaluate work of subordinates. You will be responsible for monitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable levels of performance. You will assure corrective action is initiated. You will issue orientation, training and competency assessments are conducted for assigned staff. You will develop and update technical policy and procedure manuals. You will ensure all staff and affiliate staff are in compliance with accrediting and regulating bodies. You will adjust staffing levels or work procedures to accomodate resource allocation decisions made at the executive level.
