The Tomah VA is looking for one (1) experienced highly qualified Board Certified/Board Eligible (within 4 years of completing residency), physician in Internal Medicine or Family Practice at the VA Medical Center, 500 East Veterans Street, Tomah, WI. Additional specialization in chronic disease management for diabetes, cardiovascular, geriatrics or related field desirable. This position is to provide coverage at the Tomah VA on the acute medical inpatient unit. This unit consists of 17 acute care and transitional care beds. If the inpatient census drops significantly, the provider may be asked to provide services in the primary care outpatient department. After hours and weekends are typically not required by this position; however, the incumbent may be asked to work after hours and weekends during physician shortages. The primary care clinic hours of operation at Tomah are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Federal holidays are excluded from normal clinic hours of operation. On occasion, this provider may also be asked to provide coverage on the Extended Care (nursing home) units during the absence of regularly assigned provider staff. If this occurs, it would normally be on the day shift, Monday through Friday.
