The Judicial Services Office (JSO) provides support, services, and programs to address the needs and concerns of federal judges and their staffs. The functions within the Judicial Programs Division include: duty attorney service; judgeship resource assessments; orientation programs for new judges and chief judges; and writing and producing publications and other resource materials. The Judicial Programs Division also provides subject matter expertise to support information technology programs for judges and chambers staff. The major duties are:
1. Serving as a subject matter expert on bankruptcy proceedings and case management and case administration.
2. Serving as an expert and providing advice within the AO on the information technology, case administration, and case management systems needs and concerns of judges and their chambers staff.
3. Working with software developers, other AO program offices, and court working groups to identify and prioritize requirements and design for software products to be used by judges and chambers staff.
4. Serving as subject matter expert on chambers use of technology, including Case Management/Electronic Case Files CM/ECF and its Next Generation (NextGen).
5. Developing, leading, and participating in orientation programs and briefings for judges and chambers staff on new and existing technology initiatives, including CM/ECF and NextGen.
6. Developing training and implementation plans for introducing new technology initiatives in judges' chambers.
7. Preparing, updating, and maintaining written material designed to inform judges and chambers staff on topics related to CM/ECF, NextGen, and other chambers oriented technology initiatives.
8. Providing overall support to the mission of JSO.
This position does not require education to qualify.
