This position is located in the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. The selectee will either be assigned to Los Angeles and/or San Francisco, CA.
This position has promotion potential to GS-12. Promotion Potential: There is no obligation to provide future promotions to you if you are selected. Future promotions are dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and supervisory approval.
- This position is inside the bargaining unit.
- At least two (2) positions will be filled through this vacancy. If additional vacancies become available, additional selections may be made.
- Relocation costs will NOT be paid.
Salary for Los Angeles, CA: GS-07 - $46,815.00 to $60,857.00 per year.
Salary for San Francisco, CA: GS-07 - $49,937.00 to $64,917.00 per year.Responsibilities
The incumbent will perform entry-level duties comprised of soliciting, collecting, and conducting routine analysis of complex data for major economic indicators such as the Producer Price Index and the International Price Program. Involves conducting interviews with corporate officials to negotiate cooperation, select products and services to be used in the indexes, gather product descriptions, sales terms, and prices for the selected products and services. Secure on-going commitments to provide prices in the future for the selected products and services, with a goal to maximize the level of cooperation from company officials.
